Our first open call for submissions will take place in 2027.

We are open to working with first-time authors or published writers who are exploring the boundaries of their work.

​

An NEP author will have:

• The first three chapters of a novella-in-progress

• A basic idea of where they're going with the project

• Characters and storylines grounded in realism

• A desire to meet and collaborate with the NEP writer's room

• The ability and bandwidth to honor deadlines

• A writing process that does not involve AI at any stage

​

We are open to most any work rooted in a literary exploration of the human condition in 40,000 words or less.
